Let’s embark on a journey
A retreat where the veil between the natural world and the inner world feels thin. Where mornings begin with birdsong drifting across the lake, and the air itself invites you to breathe deeper, softer, slower.
Here, yoga becomes more than movement. It becomes a meeting with yourself. A remembering. A return. Each practice is shaped by the rhythm of the water, the stillness of the jungle, and the ancient wisdom that lives in this land.
Between sessions, nourish yourself with grounding, colorful Sri Lankan cuisine. Wander the gardens. Rest by the water. Explore the richness of local culture. And when you’re ready, surrender to Ayurvedic treatments that reconnect your body and mind in ways that feel both ancient and deeply personal.
Kurulu Bay holds space — a place where ease comes naturally, and presence comes back home to you.
All levels are welcome as we move, breathe, reflect, and expand on this sacred stretch of island.
Sri Lanka, the teardrop of the Indian Ocean, is a sanctuary of ancient wisdom, breathtaking landscapes, and deep cultural richness.
Surrounded by emerald hills, golden coastlines, and sacred temples, the southern region is where the island’s gentle spirit comes alive. Kurulu Bay sits along the serene waters of Lake Koggala—a quiet world of palms, lotus blooms, and birdsong—offering a rare chance to slow down and reconnect.
Just beyond the lake, you’ll find the historic charm of Galle Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site where cobblestone lanes, art galleries, and old-world architecture meet the warm hum of modern Sri Lankan life. Venture further and you’ll discover cinnamon fields, tea estates, wildlife sanctuaries, and beaches where sea turtles nest along the shore.
Sri Lanka is a place where spirituality and daily life intertwine. Where Ayurveda still guides wellness, where rituals honor nature, and where every meal is a burst of color and flavor drawn from the land itself. It’s an island that invites you to explore deeply through movement, culture, food, and breath.
Whether you crave stillness by the lake, connection through yoga, or adventure across the southern coast, Sri Lanka offers an experience that lingers long after you leave.
Visit this extraordinary island and feel its blend of history, nature, and soul wash over you with a sense of homecoming.

Accommodations
Kurulu Bay, meaning "bird island" in Sinhalese, is a hidden haven where luxury feels intimate, effortless, and deeply nourishing. Set on the still edge of Koggala Lake, it invites you into a world where time slows, the senses awaken, and every moment feels like an exhale you’ve been waiting for.
Rooms are spacious and soothing, designed with soft textures, warm earth tones, and an elegant simplicity that encourages you to unwind the moment you step inside. Each room opens to the lake, allowing the breeze, the birdsong, and the shimmer of morning light to drift gently through your space. It feels indulgent without trying, like nature itself is taking care of you.
Days unfold at an unhurried pace. Wake slowly. Sip tea on your terrace. Wander through gardens rich with tropical greens. Stretch out in the quiet glow of the afternoon. Evenings bring soft golden sunsets over the water, inviting you to sink deeper into rest.
Luxury here is not loud. It’s thoughtful. It’s spacious. It’s a feeling of being held by both nature and design. Kurulu Bay’s One MICHELIN Key honors this devotion to refined beauty and exceptional hospitality.
Here, the lake restores you, the landscape nourishes you, and stillness becomes a pleasure in its own right.
Room Types:
Treehouse: Quietly tucked along the hillside at the back of the property, four treehouses sit elevated above the greenery. Surrounded by lush foliage, they offer sweeping views of Koggala Lake and the pool, along with an added sense of privacy. Generous windows fill each space with natural light, inviting the outdoors to become part of the experience.
Cottage: The cottages are scattered across the landscape, each with its own quiet character. One reflects a modern, contemporary design, while the other two feature traditional vernacular architecture with half-flat tiled roofs—all three open directly toward the lake, offering uninterrupted views and a serene sense of place.
Garden Suite: Nestled near The Kitchen and the main pool, the four Garden Suites open onto lush, planted grounds with soft, distant views of the lake. Large patio doors invite a refreshing breeze through the space, creating a seamless connection to nature that continues into the en-suite bathroom. (Option for two twin-size beds)
